It’s located in a historic building that no longer had room for its employment office. It also houses a historic archives, a dispensary complex, and a community room.

CF&I’s employment office was no longer fit in the main office building

The Pueblo CO Steelworks Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history of the steel and coal industries in the Western United States. In the past, the employment office operated from a small building located on the historic site of the Pueblo CO Steelworks. However, the organization’s office space is not as large as it once was. When the employment office moved to the main office building, the Steelworks Center was no longer able to accommodate it.

As the steel mill continued to expand, the employment office of the company became crowded. It was difficult to accommodate both companies.
